We managed to walk a total of 276 miles! - 76 miles OVER our Target!!
We're going the extra mile... or 200!
The Toolfix Team take to the treadmill in aid of raising funds for the NICU Ward at Peterborough City Hospital.
A range of expensive equipment is required by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Peterborough City Hospital; which provides vital stabilisation and care to newborn babies that are born too early, too small or born sick.
Here at Toolfix, we'd like to do our bit and give back to the community. By providing the staff in the children's wards with essential equipment they require, we can help support the amazing care they offer to those in need. If we can make their life, patients lives and parents lives just a little bit easier, we should!
Walking is simple and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. So what better way to promote activity amongst the team, than to get up from ours desk and get walking for charity!
Whether it be out on the pavement or inside on the office treadmill - we're aiming to rack up a total of 200 miles amongst the team in 5 days.
At the end of the five days, together we were able to raise a whopping £1,100 for the NICU Unit! With the money raised, we purchased a number of items that will be of much use to the Unit including a Dyson Blade-less fan, Breast Pumps, Nursing Pillows and “Zaky Hands” (a hand simulation device used to prevent sleep apnea and improve self-regulation for new-borns). All items are of great use to the Unit and the staff were very impressed and grateful to receive them.
